WAN-RS audio files

Postby kb3ors » Sat Mar 02, 2013 6:51 pm

The following command can be run at the root prompt, or can be set in a cron. If set up as a cron to keep up to date
please limit it to run to once a week or once a month. Audio files are not updated that often.

On XIPAR the cron can be setup through the webmin tab on the gui. It will require login. Once you have logged in with your root login and password,

CLICK on system

CLICK scheduled cron jobs

USER is root

copy and paste the following command on the command line

/usr/bin/rsync -av rsync://2135.allstarnode.com/wanrs/ /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/rpt/nodenames

TICK the box run at a scheduled time

then select from the lower boxes the time, and day you want the cron to run.

CLICK save

You can run the cron the first time right from this page. Click the cron you just created. At the bottom of the page CLICK run now. It will run the script and print on the screen the results.

If doing this with a putty session or locally on the keyboard,

cd /var/spool/cron/

nano root

copy and paste the following,

* * * * * /usr/bin/rsync -av rsync://2135.allstarnode.com/wanrs/ /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/rpt/nodenames #updates nodenames

change the first asterisk to the minute you want the cron to run.

change the second asterisk to the hour of the day you want it to run.

change the last asterisk to the day of the week you want it to run.

EX:( 30 2 * * 7) this will tell it to run at 2:30 am on saturday.
Sunday is day zero.

ctrl+O (oh) to save the file

crtl+x to exit

restart crons copy and paste the following

/etc/init.d/crond restart
