COR / CTCCS on URI question

Postby KA4EPS » Sun Jul 10, 2011 8:27 pm

I am a little unclear on what purpose these two inputs serve on the URI..
Can someone provide me with some clarification?
If I am using discriminator audio, should I just ignore those to line inputs? And if so, how should I have the confguration set to decode PL?
And in the case of any nodes where I use PL detect, how should I attach it to the URI? Just COR? or CTCSS?
Thanks in advance.

Lu,

If you are using DSP to derive COS and CTCSS detection, those inputs can be disregarded. These are set in the URD.CONF file in zipper.

You can use these inputs in any combination with DSP. It is common for me to use the MICOR derived COS but use the DSP to figure out the PL detect.

Kevin, I know we talked about a year ago about this, but how is the patch coming along with the DSP squelch issue?

Lu,

The 64 bit release has had some work done to the squelch. It's in beta right now but I'm quite happy with how the carrier squelch works with the newest release. Keep an eye out for the new stuff - Steve will likely release it to the public soon.
